The Fundraising Department’s current goal is:

To create and maintain a reliable, efficient and ethical funding base which meets the needs of Greenpeace Southeast Asia.

  • Be responsible as a Department for meeting budget targets
  • Present truthful and accessible reporting of all programs

  • Provide an annual net increase in available funds
The Indonesian Direct Dialogue Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing all direct dialogue supporter acquisition activities for Greenpeace Southeast Asia in Indonesia. This includes:
  • the recruitment of committed donors for Greenpeace using direct dialogue
  • the diversification of our direct dialogue tool
  • Expansion of our direct dialogue product across Indonesia
  • ensuring that all resources are used as efficiently as possible and income opportunities are maximised.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesBudget Management: Create and manage the overall yearly income and expenditure budgets for the Direct Dialogue acquisition function
  • Develop and manage the Direct Dialogue budgets
  • Ensure that expenditure is monitored regularly and variances reported
  • Reforecast as needed
Strategic Planning, Development & Support: Develop the strategy to recruit donors via direct dialogue techniques in Indonesia.
  • Lead the ID direct dialogue strategic planning process
  • Increase the focus on the best performing target groups
  • Adjust and refine strategies to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met
  • Remain up to date on direct dialogue fundraising strategies worldwide and translate possibilities to Indonesia
  • Provide the vision and leadership required to maximise the potential of the Direct Dialogue supporter recruitment program
  • Drive the evolution of the Direct Dialogue program by looking for opportunities to improve through the refinement of current procedures, strategic planning and implementation of new initiatives
  • Develop and implement strategies to make DDC feel an integrated part of Greenpeace
  • Take an active role in the wider fundraising strategy, planning and implementation
  • Develop relationships and cooperation with suppliers and agencies as necessary
Staff management:
  • Lead and manage a growing team of Direct Dialogue staff
  • Ensure that employment contracts align with current employment contract law
  • Day to day management of Territory Coordinators and Direct Dialogue Administrative Assistants
  • Provide clear direction, ongoing support and development opportunities for the DDC staff
  • Conduct performance appraisals with line managed staff
  • Management, training, coaching and development of staff in the DD program
  • Ensure an effective promotion path is provided to ensure senior team roles are always filled
  • Ensure the Performance Management system is robust and adhered to
  • Manage disciplinary issues of the Direct Dialogue staff that fall outside of the Performance Management system
  • Ensure a robust recruitment strategy is maintained to fulfill staffing requirements
  • Ensure that high standards are followed in the recruitment processes
  • Review and update Training Modules as required and ensure the highest standards of training is maintained
  • Maintain and develop staff retention programs and rewards
  • Develop distance management tools for motivation and development of staff
  • Increase the focus on the best performing target groups
  • Further develop training portfolio
Diversification within our direct dialogue program: Greenpeace currently recruits over 99% of our financial supporters through face to face fundraising techniques. In this role you will work alongside the Regional Other Acquisitions Coordinator to diversify this tool
  • Development of the use of new payment platforms
  • Development of the use of new technology such as tablets and mobile phones
  • Diversify our approach and proposition (e.g. leads) to specific audiences
  • Venue Management: Ensure a venue strategy that focuses on the right audiences.
  • Work with Territory Managers and Venue Officers to ensure that high standards of venues are consistently confirmed to meet Direct Dialogue needs.
  • Develop and review Venue Strategy and analysis on an ongoing basis.
Analysis and Monitoring
  • Develop and maintain accurate reporting and analysis functions in order to facilitate effective management of the program
  • Effectively monitor key performance indicators, and use results to drive strategy, seeking to develop areas of performance with greatest potential
  • Work with appropriate members of the Fundraising Team to effectively track conversion to donor and test strategies to improve it
  • Work with appropriate members of the Fundraising team to effectively track supporter attrition and test strategies to reduce it
  • Work with appropriate members of the Fundraising team to provide other useful reporting such as individual fundraiser performance, demographic analysis etc
  • Oversee monthly reporting by the team to the Fundraising Director and Fundraising Manager
  • Administrative, Procedural and Other Duties
  • Serve on cross functional project teams as required ensuring a fundraising and marketing perspective is effectively represented
  • Oversee the timely and accurate administration, results reporting and payroll.
  • Manage the movement of forms to ensure income is received as soon as possible
  • Monitor and control communication with Outreach Campaign teams
  • Ensure Greenpeace policy and procedures are observed
  • Oversee the effective management all stocks of uniforms, display equipment and stationery
  • Ensure that adequate supplies are available at all times, in each of the cities
  • Ensure the program remains transparent within the organisation, report Key Performance Indicators at staff meeting
  • Liaise with Database Officer to ensure any necessary bank information is communicated to teams and other matters related to Direct Dialogue operation
  • Facilitate weekly team leader meeting and weekly team meeting, including updates of campaign and organizational issues
General DutiesFrom time to time in order to meet organizational and fundraising priorities you will be required to perform other duties as directed by the ID Fundraising Manager, Fundraising Director and / or Deputy Fundraising Director.

Selection CriteriaEducation:
  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Business or Communications or related field.
  • Required Experience:
  • 3 years+ experience in fundraising or sales/marketing
  • 3 years+ experience in leading and managing teams
  • 3 years+ experience in managing large budgets/meeting income targets
  • Experience of field marketing or face to face sales or fundraising an advantage
  • Ideally have some experience working for an international NGO
Required Skills:
  • Excellent verbal communication (both English and Indonesian), strong written skills (both English and Indonesian), including the ability to interpret and re-write information
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, internet and email

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE APPLYING TO THIS POST

WORKING HOURS

Normal hours of work for full time Employee will be forty (40) per week or (5) days in a week, at 8 hours per day excluding an hour lunch break. This will be from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am to 6: 00 pm. Ordinary hours of work may be varied as agreed between staff and the line managers.

LEAVE

A permanent employee will be entitled to the following leaves:

Annual Leave: 20 days

Parental Leave: dependent on local labor laws of the base country

Sabbatical leave: 2 months paid leave after 5 years of continuous service

In determining salary offer for this position, Greenpeace applies its Salary Grading Process, taking into consideration the job description and applicant’s previous experience, and the organization’s salary grade.
